About Us

A Different Approach...

As educators, we know it can be challenging to find engaging, effective, and age-appropriate education to discuss sensitive topics like sexual exploitation. Our SEE presentations are designed to fill this gap!

Sexual Exploitation Education (SEE) provides an innovative approach to school based programs that reach grades 3-12 and are backed by the Ministry of Education's ERASE initiative for gender violence and online safety.

Originating as its own agency, the demand for SEE's programs and services led to a need for expansion in 2023. SEE is now one of the services of the Exploitation Education Institute.

SEE presentations

  • Cover core competencies required of educators
  • Backed by the ERASE initiative from the BC government
  • Effective by covering the root causes that lead to exploitation
  • Expert Led
  • Light-hearted, interactive, and entertaining

These presentations can be provided in person or virtual, to any sized group, and anywhere. Our mission is to prevent sexual exploitation and human trafficking by focusing on root causes that contribute to sexual exploitation. Using humor and multimedia, we make this issue relatable to all. Our approach has been featured in media outlets such as CBC news, Global News, and local Newspapers.

Our Founder

Tiana Sharifi

With 10 years of experience specifically in the field of anti-human trafficking and sexual exploitation, Tiana Sharifi noticed significant gaps in addressing the issue and drew upon her experience and expertise to create SEE—a dynamic solution to bridge these gaps.

Tiana's mission is to combat sexual exploitation within communities across BC and Canada while raising awareness of this pressing issue among the general public.

In line with her vision, SEE's programs tackle the root causes and psychology behind effective prevention education.

Utilizing her educational background in Psychology and Counselling, Tiana firmly believes that prevention programs should adopt a light-hearted approach, steering clear of fear or shame-based tactics because true empowerment is hard to attain when individuals feel hopeless or overwhelmed.

As a dedicated professional and a mother herself, Tiana has devoted her life to the fight against sexual exploitation and human trafficking of children and youth. She strongly believes that our top priority should be the well-being of children.

As an international expert, Tiana has been invited to keynote conferences and be a voice to popular media outlets.
